Curly Dock Sorrel Rumex Crispus Seeds

Nice big packet of 200+ seeds!

It can really be hard to find seed for this fella commercially, and I reckon it’s a real asset. Can grow anywhere that the soil is regularly moist.

The way I used to grow it is in a couple cheap buckets filled with poor quality sandy soil sitting in a styrofoam box.
Now I have a heap of kiddies pools with it growing in pots.
My little artificial frog habitat/swamp.

You can just plant it next to a tap. The plant itself does not need constant wet to survive and provide the odd feed, but it really does thrive in moist conditions or along dams, pond, creek banks, shorelines and swamps.

Excellent choice for Aquaponics and nutrient sinks!!! My Goldfish, Gourami, Koi and Plecos all grazed the odd overhanging bit we had next to the ponds at our previous house. Absorbs excess nitrogen, filters the water and provides a self-sustaining, regular source of green leafy vegies! Tastes crisp and tangy.

My best guess at a description is “Cos lettuce x Rocket x Bok Choi x Lemon juice”? (I think the Oxalic Acid and Vitamin C/Ascorbic Acid that give it the delicious Tangy bite?)

It’s very high in iron, and when compared to Spinach it has 130% the amount of Iron, Calcium, Potassium, Beta Carotene and Phosphorus and more than 2x the Vitamin C. The roots can be roasted to make a Coffee substitute (much like Chicory or Dandelion).

It’s been used to treat iron deficiency for thousands of years. The seed itself can be ground to a light flour and used to make noodles and as an addition to baked goods to minimize the wheat content and add nutrition.
Just like buckwheat really, but a bit softer and fluffier.

Well there you go, another useful, low maintenance edible plant, to add to the collection.

Grown by us organically, no nasties, no chems, no problems!!!
