Yellow Vine Spineless Caltrop Tribulus Micrococcus Seeds

Packet of 25+ very rarely available native seeds!

A very beautiful groundcover vine that has interesting frilly leaves produces heaps of yellow flowers all through Spring and Summer.

As the name suggests it is closely related Tribulus terrestris, but unlike that fella, this guy is a native.
Even better, it doesn’t have any spikes!
The pods or nuttlets are like small and rounded oranges, and when ripe they split into wedges in the same sort of way.
Not only does it lack the caltrop like spines Gokshura has, and it has much larger prettier flowers too!

The whole plant is very attractive and just as pretty as any of the more common imported species.
I believe it has great potential for mass planting in public spaces as it handles growing in barren rocky soils, heavy foot traffic, and it sets abundant seed easily filling a space.
Much better than gazanias or marigolds I reckon, and though it’s technically a vine it doesn’t have fine tendrils.

This means it doesn’t choke or climb trees the way more non-terrestrial vines do.
It’s a full time sprawling drought tolerant ground cover.

Native to all states of Australia except Tasmania and Western Australia and the only downside I can see is it’s being toxic to cattle especially when malnourished or drought stressed.
Just like most more common ornamental plants are..

So provided you aren’t a cow, and don’t have plans on eating it, this fella makes a great choice as an ornamental flower and I reckon it should be much more common grown and promoted than it is.

Grown by me and the Mrs organically, no chems, no nasties, no problems!!!

NOT FOR WA and TAS, due to the added expense and drama involved.

If you decide to try and buy anyway, this item will not be sent. 🙂
