Cereus Hildmannianus Wild Thing Cactus
1x large well-rooted degrafted cactus!
It will be sent bare-rooted wrapped well in recycled paper materials to avoid transit damage and rot.
On arrival just remove them from the packaging and stand upright in a pot of completely bone dry sandy soil mix, being careful not to bury it too deep.
Do NOT water for a few weeks to allow the plants to heal and form a callous, but after that you can give them a good soak once a fortnight or when the soil has dried out.
They do great in sheltered to full sunlight and are the ideal pet plant for folks with limited space in the city or renting.
I make these big fellas by grafting a healthy chunk of the Cereus Hildmannianus cultivar “Wild Thing” to a well prepared Hylocereus Dragonfruit rootstock.
Doing that gives strong fast growth and I’m able to get larger awesomely funky mature plants in a much shorter time, saves years.
I do this by attaching a piece to the rootstock at a young age, then once they get big enough I remove the graft and allow the plant to heal and grow it’s own roots. That prevents any long term dramas with the root stock cos now there isn’t any.
It’s been grown out on its own roots now for many months and if you give it a nice well draining soil mix it will give you many many years of enjoyment.
Grown by me and the Mrs organically, no chems, no nasties, no problems!
