Australian Sage Salvia Plebeia Seeds

This fella is a native to China, Nepal, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, Afghanistan, India, Indonesia, Russia, Thailand, Vietnam, and the whole east coast of Australia.
It is known by the following names.
Australian native sage, Australian sage, austral sage, bhu-tulasi, bijabuda, chimaikkarppuram, fen yao cao, guo dong qing, jingiba, kachora, kachoralu, kalo pati, kammar kas, kamrkash, kannada, kasturimanjal, kichili-baddalu, kinro, li zhi cao, Lumnitzeria fastigiata, mizo-kouiju, mizo kouju, mizo koujyu, Ocimum fastigiatum, Ocimum virgatum, pulam-kizhanma, sage weed, Salvia brachiata, Salvia minutiflora, Salvia parviflora, Salvia plebeia var. latifolia, Salvia plebeja, samudraphala, samundarsok, sathi, shati, shui yang, small flower sage, small flower salvia, tham-wen, tian ming jing, vrddhadaru, wild sage, zhou pi cong.
I use it as a pot herb, but it isn’t something I eat all the time as the leaf is quite bitter, and it has a strong diuretic and a mild sedative effect(makes you pee a lot and kinda sleepy).
Small amounts of the seeds can be quickly fried or bashed with a pestle for a mustard like spice in hot curries and bean dishes, which is doubly handy as they prevent diarrhea and slow digestion preventing stomach ache and bloating, all at the same time.
They are also used in Chinese and Indian medicinal formulations for the treatment of gonorrhoea, menorrhagia and haemorrhoids.
The leaf and flower stems are shown to reduce fever, kill intestinal worms, and have a strong anti-inflammatory effect, and it is very commonly used for treatment of urinary tract infections too.
Can’t recommend any of that, but as a hardy native pot herb and ornamental, it it fits the bill for me!
