Speckled Pup Pumpkin Cucurbita Maxima Seeds
Packet of 10+ organically grown seeds!
This is a very tasty little pumpkin and the smaller size makes it very convenient.
Actually fits in your fridge!
It stores well, has a brilliant bright orange colour, and is has resistance to ZYMV and powdery mildew.
Powdery mildew is always a minor issue with Other Pumpkins but never seen any on this fella.
It is a Japanese style Kabocha pumpkin that was originally brought to Australia from the USA back in the day.
The skin looks really cool if grown in cool conditions, and that is where it gets its speckled name.
Bright orange skin with a mottled blotchy look to them and often used as display or ornament sort of thing in the United States I’m told.
The one in the picture was grown in Summer and I used my old dodgy camera so unfortunately it just looks like any other green skinned kabocha style pumpkin.
The taste is awesome, real rich and nutty with a smooth creamy texture, no fibrous strings, and very small seed cavity.
It’s a great choice and one that you hardly ever see available these days.
It is ideal for home gardeners and folks renting with a small backyard.
Even just a metre of nice soil with the vine curled round and round on top of itself will still produce a decent crop.
Grown by me and the Mrs organically, no chems, no nasties no problems!!!
