Pilosocereus Glaucescens Blue Torch Cactus

1x very well-rooted ~15cm blue torch cactus pup!

It will be sent bare-rooted wrapped well in recycled materials to avoid transit damage and rot.
On arrival just remove them from the packaging and stand upright in a pot of completely bone dry sandy soil mix, being careful not to bury it too deep.
Do NOT water for a few weeks to allow the plants to heal and form a callous, but after that you can give them a good soak once a fortnight or when the soil has dried out.

These guys are originally from the dry scrub forests of Caatinga in northern Brazil, and they absolutely love it here in Queensland Australia.

Like everything cactus there is debate about the botanical classification and while Pilosocereus glaucescens is the name I bought it under and seems to be the most commonly used, Pilocereus glaucescens, Cephalocereus glaucescens, Pilocereus glaucescens, Pseudopilocereus glaucescens and Pilosocereus pachycladus all get used too along with Blue Torch cactus.

The glaucous blue grey powder coating and super furry aerolas look really cool, and it gets an edible fruit which is my main reason for having in the collection.
My plan is to to try crossing them with my Pilosocereus and Cereus too with the aim of inter-generic hybrids. In the meantime I have a couple rooted cuttings for sale and if you are quick you can buy one from me to have a crack at yourself.

Grown by me and the Mrs organically, no chems, no nasties, no problems!

NOT FOR WESTERN AUSTRALIA or TASMANIA due to added expense and drama involved.

If you decide to try and buy anyway, this item will not be sent. 🙂
