Myrtillocactus Geometrizans Bilberry Cactus Blue Candle Cactus
1x very well-rooted ~12cm Bilberry cactus pup!
It will be sent bare-rooted wrapped well in recycled materials to avoid transit damage and rot.
On arrival just remove them from the packaging and stand upright in a pot of completely bone dry sandy soil mix, being careful not to bury it too deep.
Do NOT water for a few weeks to allow the plants to heal and form a callous, but after that you can give them a good soak once a fortnight or when the soil has dried out.
This fella is originally from Mexico and the fruit is sold at markets all across South America, normally under the name of Garambullo or Bilberry.
They are the size of large blueberries, with purple red flesh, and a sweet juicy pulp.
Mine are only a couple years old so they haven’t fruited yet, but having tried a friends I can’t wait!
Also super looking forward to crossing with my other Cactus Fruit.
I reckon fruit in maybe two more years(I’m told ~4years from mature growth cuttings like these) and in the meantime I have a few cuttings spare.
Sometimes called Our Father, Blue Candle, Blue Flame, Blue Myrtle Cactus, Whortleberry Cactus, Cactus geometrizans, Cereus garambello, Cereus geometrizans, Cereus aquicaulensis, Cereus garambello, Cereus geometrizans, Cereus gladiator, Cereus pugionifer, Myrtillocactus grandiareolatus, Myrtillocactus hertrichii, and Myrtillocactus pugionifer, but most often Myrtillocactus geometrizans, Bilberry Cactus, or Garambullo.
Grown by me and the Mrs organically, no chems, no nasties, no problems!
