Leonurus Sibiricus Marihuanilla Siberian Motherwort Seeds
Big Packet of 100+ freshly harvested seeds!
Called a heap of different things, Siberian motherwort, Marihuanilla, little marijuana, marihuanilla, marijuanillo, mahjiki, Chinese motherwart, ich mau thao, i mu isa, amor mio, mehajiki, yakumosos, yi mu cao and honeyweed to name a few.
Very attractive large flowering herb. It starts of small and takes a while to get started, but it really grows big in the last few months. I have had them get 2.5meters high and about 1.5meters wide in good soil here, much smaller and more manageable in pots if kept regularly pruned.
Lovely lacy foliage, christmas tree shaped plant that ends up covered of pink and purple flower buds.
The traditional uses of the plant are really wide with the Chinese using the herb to treat “loss of potency in men”, as a diuretic and to relive the pain associated with postpartum bleeding or painful menstruation. In Mexico an alcohol extraction is made by chopping finely and soaking the leaf root and stem in liquor, then filtering and applying the medicine to joints to relieve the pain and inflammation associated with arthritic conditions.
It was also used as a tea by many cultures to help with hormone imbalance and “women’s issues”.
These days the main use is as a smoking herb or base herb to many of relaxing tea blends that are now widely available these days. I use it as a tea myself and find it help heaps on those hot, sticky, summer nights, when I just can’t get comfortable and get to sleep.
It has a reputation for being very similar in effect to Marijuana, but I personally think this mostly stems from its very similar appearance, but saying that it does have a mild sedative effect much like the rest of the family.
Grown by me and the Mrs organically, no chems, no nasties no problems!!!
