Awesome seasonal fruit that keeps producing for a couple months.
Loves creek lines and rivers, but is still very drought hardy.
What you are buying is 15 freshly picked fully ripe fruit, each containing at least one viable seed.
Many contain 2 or 3 seeds, and every now and then the odd one even has 4 seeds.
How it works is you order, I will collect the fruit, I will put the fruit in a labelled baggie, I will put the baggie in a bubble mailer, and send it out to you standard postage anywhere in the world first thing Monday morning.
On arrival thoroughly wash and remove all of the fruit flesh, and plant them in a nice well drained soil, water and wait.
On arrival at your place the fruit will be a bit mashed up from the rough journey and it may stink like fermented rotten fruit(as that is what they are).
They may have colourful furry fungi on the exterior of the fruit and in some cases it may have even extended into the flesh itself and while you wouldn’t want to eat them, the seeds themselves will germinate fine.
Same deal as rotting on the ground under a tree in the wild…
You may want to use a sterile medium or an antifungal to prevent damping off issues, but I don’t bother and have great results.
Why send it special still inside the whole fruit?
Seed of this species older than a couple months, or seed that has had the fruit skin pierced or removed before storage has a greatly reduced germination.
I will only send these difficult to store seeds like this, and they will only be available while the fruit is available.
If I go out to pick your order and the bats or critters have eaten them all, then you will be refunded immediately.
You will not get fresher seeds anywhere, but due to sometimes difficult nature of the seeds, please look at germination as a gamble, and if you can not afford to not have success, then please choose another species.
When thoroughly washed, fresh seeds like this should have a near 70% strike rate but rotten fruit pieces attached to the seed can allow fungal and bacterial attack to eventually enter the eye and kill the seeds themselves meaning a ZERO% germination.
Because they are whole fruit, not fully dried clean seeds this may cause confiscation by your countries quarantine service and for this reason I can not guarantee international delivery of this species.
These guys are a gamble, if you don’t want to play, just don’t buy them.
Easy as.
