Tzimbalo African Pepino Solanum Caripense Seeds
Packet of 15+ freshly harvested super small, organically grown seeds!
These guys are awesome, and very rarely seen for sale anywhere, let alone here in Australia, despite it handling temperatures down to -2c.
Despite the name suggesting otherwise, they are probably not an African native, but most likely from Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia, Peru and Chile. An undomesticated wild relative of the edible and delicious Pepino, cousin of the Naranjilla, and other many other interesting Solanum Species.
Just like the Pepino these guys are edible too, just a little smaller and I guess “spicier” in taste. Not as sugar sweet, tangy, almost peppery after notes to it, really good in a salad, served with cheeses and smoked meats.
I see a big future as a gourmet novelty food in fancy restaurants. The next big thing, mark my words.
Easy to grow, high yields, tasty unusual fruits, attractive white Solanum style flowers.
What more could you want?
Grown by me and the Mrs organically, no chems no nasties, no problems!!!
