True Patchouli or Pogostemon cablin.
100+ tiny fresh seeds of the real deal!
Please be aware that the “Pogostemon Heyeanus/Patchouli” that other competitors often sell does not have any real use an aromatic or useful essential oil, and is grown for its glossy leaves and flowers only.
That’s why they can source its seed so cheaply (and it sets so much more seed).
I am sure that a lot of them don’t even know their mistake as they don’t actually grow the plants themselves…
This however, is the real deal, grown here by me and the Mrs!
It has a heavily aromatic and heady aroma, and is an incredibly hard to find plant these days, used in fragrances, lotions and potions since time began.
It too has lovely glossy leaves and flowers, but with that comes a scent that fills the garden and attracts bees and butterflies for miles!
Great for masking other scents (like smoke), making essential oils, soaps, oil infusions, herbal remedies, potpourri, stuffing pillows, repelling insects and moths from stored clothing or in cupboards, and just about anything really.
Its a natural fungicide, that is great for foot rot (tinea), and the bonus is it gets rid of the stink at the same time!
Just crush some dried leaf into your sneakers and your good to go.
Its aroma comes from the oils in the plant and those oils are in every part of it, not just the flowers.
Commercial harvesting and cultivation of the leaves for steam distillation is done on a huge scale in China, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Mauritius, Taiwan, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and large parts of Western Africa.
Its used extensively in skin care products for its ability to help with acne, eczema, inflammation, cracked, chapped or generally irritated skin.
It is often the magic ingredient in anti-aging skin care due to its natural cell-rejuvenating properties and its ability to lessen the look of scars.
Very easy to grow and I get a heap of seedlings just coming up in the pot from dropped seeds. Cuttings are even easier, just wack them in a glass of water and plant out when they shoot.
Grown by us organically, no nasties, no chems, no problems!!!
